Meet Denise: A Makeup Artist's Journey from Passion to Profession

Welcome to my very first blog post! I'm thrilled to kick off this blogging adventure by sharing a little bit about myself and how I transformed my passion for makeup into a thriving career. So, without further ado, let's dive into my story.

I'm Denise, and I proudly wear the badge of a professional makeup artist hailing from the sunny streets of Santa Ana, California and servicing Los Angeles and Orange County, CA. It's been quite a ride, as I've been in this fabulous world of makeup artistry for six amazing years. But how did I get here? Well, it all started when I found myself at a crossroads in life, unsure of which career path to pursue.

Back then, I didn't have a burning passion for any particular job, and the thought of being stuck in a 9-to-5 gig that didn't make my heart sing was daunting. It wasn't until I was 18 and in college that I stumbled upon the world of makeup. I started experimenting with colors and techniques on my own face, and boy, did I fall head over heels in love with it! Little did I know that this newfound fascination with makeup would become my life's calling.

After much contemplation, I took the plunge and decided to invest in my passion. I enrolled in a makeup school, where I honed my skills, learned about hygiene, and delved into the business side of makeup artistry. It was a journey of self-discovery and relentless dedication, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I kicked off my professional makeup artist journey by working at the Lancome counter inside Macy's, where I could share my makeup artistry with others. But then, the world threw us a curveball - the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Like many others, I had to adapt and pivot. So, I took a leap of faith and transitioned into freelancing full-time.

Throughout this incredible journey, I've been blessed with unwavering support from my friends and family. Even on the toughest days, I can't imagine doing anything else. Being a professional makeup artist is not just a job; it's a passion that fuels my creativity and brings joy to my heart.
